Johann Kludas/Sophie Ruesch

Johann Friedrich Casper KLUDAS was born.  Not sure where or when. He married Sophie Ruesch and they had six kids:

Johan died.

Sophie Dorothee RUESCH was also born, and then at some point, died.  How’s that for professional genealogy.

This is the last of the 3 great grandparents.

William Thomas ALLEN was born 26 Mar 1816 in Harrison County, MO.  He married Sarah Johnson 2 Feb 1838 in Clinton, MO.  They had eight kids.

William died 18 Oct 1852 in Madison, Warren, Iowa.  He was 36 years old.

Sarah A. JOHNSON was born in 1813 in Kentucky.  She died 1 Nov 1900 in Cunningham, Kingman, Kansas. She was 87 years old.

Jacob Anson WILEY was born in 1815 in Morgan County, Ohio.  Me married Mary Woodford 28 Nov 1837 in Morgan County. They moved to Warren County, Iowa in 1854. They had 13 kids.

Jacob died 18 Feb 1879 in Prole, Warren, Iowa.  He is buried at the Linn Township Cemetery in Prole.

Mary Leve WOODFORD was born 12 Oct 1819 in Marietta, Ohio.  She died 18 Mar 1907 in Prole.  She is buried at Linn Township Cemetery.

Jean Baptiste PIANT was born 3 Jan 1820 in Florissant, MO.  He married Marie Watts 11 Apr 1850 at the Old Cathedral in St Louis.  He was a farmer. They had eight children.

Marie Louise WATTS was born abt. 1832 in Florissant, MO.  She died 29 Nov 1902 in Florissant.  She is buried at St Ferdinand Cemetery (Plot NE 09, Lot 004EH)

Michael Grace/Rose McDonnelly

Michael GRACE was born in County Cork, Ireland in 1800.  He married Rose McDonnelly and they had seven children.

Andrew – b,1844 our great-great grandfather

All the kids were born in Swordlestown, Newbridge, Kildare, Ireland, except for Arthur, who was born in Boston Harbor, MA.  The family came to Missouri in 1850.

Michael Grace died 15 Feb 1874 in St Louis.

Rose MCDONNELLY was born abt. 1802 in Ireland.  She died bet. 1860-1870 in St Louis. She is buried at Calvary Cemetery (Sec 013, Lot 0342)

Patrick Langan/Anne Kelly

Patrick LANGAN was born in 1817 in Ballina, Mayo, Ireland.  He married Anne Kelly. They had seven kids:

Charles – b, 1841 – married Mary McSheffrey

Bernard – b, 1849 – married Ellen Duddy

Patrick – b,1852 – married Mary Sweeney.

Susan Agnes – b, 1853 – married Daniel Cassidy.

Mary Ellen – b,1854 – our great great grandmother.

John Edward – b, 1860 – married Susan Gallagher.

Anne – b, 1862 – married William Quigley.

All the kids were born in Letterkenny, Donegal, Ireland.

Patrick died 13 Oct 1885 in Letterkenny.

Anne Nelly KELLY was born in 1822.  She died 6 Nov 1889 in Letterkenny.

Patrick and Anne are buried in Letterkenny.

James Doherty

James DOHERTY was born abt. 1822 in County Donegal, Ireland.  He was a farmer and livestock dealer.  He married Mary MARTIN.  They had eight kids:

James died 6 Aug 1890 in Drumrooske, Donegal, Ireland.  He is buried at Old Abbey Cemetery in County Donegal.

Mary MARTIN was born in 1823.  She died 12 May 1894 in Drumrooske.

Antoine Reiminger/Catharina Heisserer

Antoine “Anthony” REIMINGER was born 6 Jun 1813 in Schirrein, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France.  He married Catharina Heisserer 11 Jul 1842 at St Nicholas Catholic Church in Schirrein.  They had four kids:

Joseph – b,1843

Justine – b, 1847. Our great-great grandmother.

Simon – b, 1851.  Married Mary Teresa LeGrand.

Mary – b, 1853 in Louisiana. Married Conrad Blattel.

The family emigrated to the U.S. in 1853 through New Orleans.  It appears Mary Reiminger was born on the trip, which means that Mom made the journey while very pregnant.  Many families from the Alsace area came to Missouri and settled together in Scott County, MO.

Anthony died 20 Nov 1870 in New Hamburg, MO.  He was 57 years old.  He is buried at St Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in New Hamburg.

Catharina HEISSERER was born 13 Oct 1813 in Schirrein.  She died 20 Oct 1881 in New Hamburg.  She was 68 years old.  She is buried at St Lawrence Cemetery.

In the previous post, I told you many of these family names are common in southeast Missouri.

Yesterday, at the Missouri State Girls Soccer championships, Cape Notre Dame defeated St Pius X (Kansas City) in the semi-finals 1-0 on a goal be Megan Heisserer.  She is probably related to us in some way.

George BLATTEL was born 19 Mar 1817 in Elz, Limburg-Weilburg, Hessen, Germany.  He came to the United States in 1851.  He married Anna Maria Sabel 5 Dec 1843 at St John Catholic Church in Elz.  They had seven kids:

John – b,1844 in Elz – Our great-great grandfather.

Jacob – b,1850 in Elz.  Married Philomenia Glastetter.

Conrad – b,1851 in Elz.  Married Mary Reiminger.

Elizabeth – b,1853 in Elz.  Married Bernard Kenkel.

Frank – b, 1856 in Kelso, MO.  Married Mary Frances Gosche.

George – b, 1858 in Kelso.

Joseph – b,1860 in Kelso.  Married Louisa Heisserer.

In doing my research, I have found all of these names are still common in the Scott County/Cape area of southeast Missouri.

George died 10 Sep 1874 in New Hamburg, MO.  He was 57 years old.  He is buried in the St Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in New Hamburg.

George Blattel

Anna Maria SABEL was born 21 Aug 1820 in Elz.  She died 15 Oct 1861 in New Hamburg.  She was 41 years old.  She is buried at St Lawrence Cemetery.

After Anna Maria’s death, George married Anna Maria SPOONHAUER on 7 Oct 1862 at St Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg.  She died in 1902 in New Hamburg.

John R. Swan/Mary Bradender

John R. SWAN was born in England in 1816.  He married Mary Bradender 22 May 1848 In Erie, PA. (170 years ago today)  They had seven kids:

Robert – b, 1851 in Erie.  Married Josephine Kilhoefner.

Martha – b, 1854 in Erie.

Selena – b, 1858 in Scott County, MO.

Veronica – n, 1861 in New Hamburg, MO. Married Frank Messmer.

John – b, 1867 in Scott County.

Frederick – b, 1869 in Scott County.

John Swan died 15 Jul 1879.  He was 63 years old.  He is buried at St Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso, MO.

Mary Ann BRADENDER was born in 1826 in Lancaster County, PA.  She died 30 Aug 1896 in Kelso, MO.  She was 70 years old.  She is buried at St Augustine Cemetery.
