Mary Buell MILLS was born 8 Dec 1662 in Winsor, Hartford, CT. She died 4 Apr 1730 in Simsbury. She was 68 years old.

Bettie Held, 89, of Morrison, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at her daughters home in Holts Summit, Missouri. 

Bettie was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 22, 1932, the daughter of the late Fredrick & Dorothy (Wiley) Held.

She was the widow of Donald Hugo Held.  They were united in marriage on November 18, 1953, at Platka, Florida.  Donald preceded her in death on May 9, 2017.

Bettie was a very active member of Zion-St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Pershing, Missouri.  She enjoyed teaching vacation bible school.

Bettie held various jobs over the years, she worked as a secretary, a tax accountant, she worked in customer service and she also helped her husband on the family farm.   In her free time she enjoyed bowling, doing arts and crafts, and gardening.

Bettie is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Stafford, of Holts Summit, Missouri; and Carol Branson, of Owensville, Missouri; a son, Andrew Held & wife Vicki, of Hermann, Missouri; a son-in-law, David Hemeyer, of Jefferson City, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Homeister, of Tiffin, Ohio; by her grandchildren, Eric and Jennifer Hemeyer, Lucy Moore, Charles Witzigman III, and Benjamin Held and six great grandchildren.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Timothy Held, a daughter, Barbara Hemeyer and a grandson, Michael Keeling.

No services will be held at this time. Memorials may be given to Zion-St. Peter’s United Church of Christ.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.

Amos Phelps/Sarah Pettibone

Amos PHELPS was born in 1703 in Simsbury, Hartford, CT. He served in the Revolutionary War for three months in 1776, in the 4th Regiment, Company 9. He married Sarah Pettibone 1 Jul 1723 in Simsbury.

They had five children:

Dorothy – b, 1734

Mary – b, 1740

Amos died 11 Jun 1777 in Simsbury. He was 74 years old.

Sarah PETTIBONE was born 14 Mar 1704 in Simsbury. She died 8 Apr 1781 in Simsbury. She was 77 years old.
