Antoine Reiminger/Catharina Heisserer

Antoine “Anthony” REIMINGER was born 6 Jun 1813 in Schirrein, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France.  He married Catharina Heisserer 11 Jul 1842 at St Nicholas Catholic Church in Schirrein.  They had four kids:

Joseph – b,1843

Justine – b, 1847. Our great-great grandmother.

Simon – b, 1851.  Married Mary Teresa LeGrand.

Mary – b, 1853 in Louisiana. Married Conrad Blattel.

The family emigrated to the U.S. in 1853 through New Orleans.  It appears Mary Reiminger was born on the trip, which means that Mom made the journey while very pregnant.  Many families from the Alsace area came to Missouri and settled together in Scott County, MO.

Anthony died 20 Nov 1870 in New Hamburg, MO.  He was 57 years old.  He is buried at St Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in New Hamburg.

Catharina HEISSERER was born 13 Oct 1813 in Schirrein.  She died 20 Oct 1881 in New Hamburg.  She was 68 years old.  She is buried at St Lawrence Cemetery.

In the previous post, I told you many of these family names are common in southeast Missouri.

Yesterday, at the Missouri State Girls Soccer championships, Cape Notre Dame defeated St Pius X (Kansas City) in the semi-finals 1-0 on a goal be Megan Heisserer.  She is probably related to us in some way.

This is the end of the 3 great grandparents posts for the Fitzgerald side of the family.  The CLARK, HALPIN AND LIPPS line stopped at the great-great grandparents.

George BLATTEL was born 19 Mar 1817 in Elz, Limburg-Weilburg, Hessen, Germany.  He came to the United States in 1851.  He married Anna Maria Sabel 5 Dec 1843 at St John Catholic Church in Elz.  They had seven kids:

John – b,1844 in Elz – Our great-great grandfather.

Jacob – b,1850 in Elz.  Married Philomenia Glastetter.

Conrad – b,1851 in Elz.  Married Mary Reiminger.

Andrew Shannon/Annie Dowd

On the death certificate for Mary Shannon, my great-great grandmother, it lists her parents as Andrew SHANNON and Annie DOWD.  They were both born in Ireland.

I believe Annie Dowd was born in 1828 and dies in 1896.

Mary Shannon was born in County Mayo, so it is likely her parents were from that neck of the woods.

Richard Fitzgerald/Joanna Riordan

Now we go to our great-great-great grandparents (3 great grandparents).  We have 32.

Richard FITZGERALD was born about 1811 in Ireland.  I believe he was born in Boherbue, Cork, Ireland.  I believe means that I have seen information online, but I cannot verify said information.  Therefore, it may or may not be true.  He married Joanna Riordan in 1835.  They had Their kids were:

David Richard- b 1835, our great-great grandfather.

Richard – b 1841, d-1899 in St Louis. He married Mary Ann Donegan.

Charles – b abt. 1843

Richard died in 1884.

Joanna Hanna RIORDAN was born in 1819 in Cork County, Ireland.  We do not know when she died, but we assume she has.

As of today, I do not have the Fitzgerald line past Richard.  Hopefully someday.  So for those keeping score, the line goes: Richard (b 1811), David (b 1835), Richard (b 1882), David (b 1903), Dad (b 1935).
